Assistive Technology
Assistive technology or adaptive technology (AT) is an umbrella term that includes assistive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities. The use of technology in our lives has risen at an incredible pace in recent years, and there are an increasing number of potential applications of technology in the rehabilitation setting.
This section gathers some research into the use of assistive technology and its application for people with acquired brain injury. It is important that any new rehabilitation aids are used with the support of a qualified professional such as an occupational therapist.
Researchers at Cardiff University are looking for carers of brain injury survivors to contribute to a new study into the experiences of occupational balance.
