Long-term outcomes of moderate to severe traumatic brain injury explored in research

The long-term outcomes of around 300 moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors have been explored by researchers.

306 TBI survivors were interviewed up to 24 years post-injury and asked about their health, activity, living arrangements and employment, among other domains.

Participants were found to mostly be limited in activities such as managing money and shopping. 29% of participants had returned to full-time work. Cognitive impairment was significantly related to activity limitations.
