"This is a great opportunity for anyone who might find big events a little bit more overwhelming"
Hi, my name's Eden, and I'm going to be leading a team in the Great North Swim Quiet Wave for Headway - the brain injury association. This is a great opportunity for anyone who might usually find big events a little bit more overwhelming, or if you want to take on a challenge in a more controlled environment. The music and the PA systems are going to be scaled right back, and there's going to be a reduced number of swimmers, so there's going to be plenty more room in the water for everyone. I have ten spaces in my team, so here are ten reasons why you should join!
You'll enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Windermere.
The Quiet Wave will allow you to focus more on mindfulness.
This doesn't have to be a race, we're all in this together.
This is a chance to take on a challenge and step out of your comfort zone.
Open water swimming improves your circulation.
It also improves your immune system!
It reduces stress.
It improves your mental resilience.
Swimming is a lot less impactful on your body compared to other sports.
It gives you an amazing natural high.
So, if you want to join me in the Quiet Wave, sign up on our dedicated event page. I can't wait to see you there!
