Headway responds to the second independent review of PIP

Fri 16 Sep 2016

As part of the roll-out of PIP, there is a commitment to conduct a series of independent reviews to examine how the benefit is working and make recommendations for change. The second and possibly final independent review is led by Paul Gray, and offers an important opportunity to highlight areas in which the benefit is and is not working for people with a brain injury.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a benefit paid to people on the basis of their disability. It was recently introduced to replace Disability Living Allowance (DLA), with all adult DLA claimants due to be migrated to it by mid-2017.

We invited Headway members, groups and branches to contribute the review, to ensure the experiences of people with brain injury are taken into account.

You can download our response below, and visit the review page on gov.uk to find out more.

This consultation closes on 16th September 2016 at 5pm.
