#SilentKillerBill – consultation on draft Carbon Monoxide (Detection and Safety) Bill

Fri 05 Jan 2018

Read Headway's response to this bill, which aims to reduce brain injury and death from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Carbon monoxide poisoning can be fatal, and survivors can be left with life-changing brain injury. Because it can be difficult to diagnose, many people can be affected by CO poisoning or live with low-level poisoning without being aware of the cause.

Eddie Hughes MP is proposing a new law (a Bill) which will make some simple changes to require installation of audible carbon monoxide alarms and duties around promoting carbon monoxide safety and awareness in more homes. As part of the research into the draft bill, Headway submitted a consultation response which you download below.
