The one day essential neurology session, held at the RCGP offices in London, featured a series of talks on different topics related to neurology, in order to boost GPs and other healthcare professionals’ training in this area.
Headway has been supporting GPs with managing brain injury for years, producing bespoke brain injury publications endorsed by the RCGP and launching an ongoing campaign to raise awareness. The GP campaign, supported by Dr Chris Steele (MBE), provides a platform from which GPs can pledge their commitment to managing brain injury.
“This conference was a great opportunity for us to network with GPs, as well as raising awareness about the work that we do,” said Tamsin Ahmad, Publications and Research Manager at Headway.
“It was really positive to see how many GPs were interested in Headway and keen to learn more about brain injury in general. We hope that we continue to see a commitment to brain injury across the GP network, so that the many people who see their GP with concerns about brain injury are appropriately managed.
"We would like to thank the RCGP for running this session, and for inviting us to share information about Headway and brain injury to this cohort of professionals.”
