Visual problems after brain injury explained in new factsheet

Mon 03 Sep 2018

Vision is one of our most important senses, yet a brain injury can affect it in a number of ways. Visual problems following brain injury can affect both the quality of information received by the brain and interpretation of the information received.

Brain injury survivors can therefore experience a number of different types of visual problems, which can range from mild to severe depending on the nature of the injury.

In Headway’s new factsheet, Visual problems after brain injury, common visual problems after brain injury are explained, including issues such as visual field loss, double vision and visual agnosia, among others. The impact of visual problems on day-to-day living is also discussed.

The factsheet also offers a number of tips on coping with visual problems, as well as guiding readers to sources of professional support.

You can download the factsheet below, or from our Information Library
