How does it work?
The CEA card entitles you to one free cinema ticket for a friend, family member or carer to accompany you to the cinema and provide the assistance you may need during your visit.
Approximately 90 percent of cinemas accept the card. Search for participating cinemas here.
To receive a free ticket the person issued the card needs to purchase a full-price ticket to the screening.
Am I eligible?
To be granted a CEA card a person should be in receipt of:
• Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
• Attendance Allowance (AA)
• Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
• Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
(Or hold Sight Impaired Registration)
The scheme does not accept Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, or allow people to use their Blue Badge as sole proof of eligibility. However, if you do not meet the criteria but believe that, as a result of your brain injury, you need someone to accompany you to the cinema you should contact the UK Cinema Association.
