The major milestone was just one of many reasons to celebrate another successful year for the charity, with more people than ever before helped by Headway.
“We are absolutely thrilled to see so many people accessing the support we provide,” said Luke Griggs, Director of Communications at Headway.
“For many, the website is the first place to start looking when seeking specialist help or information. We are proud that people affected by brain injury are increasingly finding our site and utilising the support it offers, whether that be the free-to-access publications, or the simple tool to locate local services, such as our network of groups and branches.”
2018 was another year of significant growth for the charity. In addition to the increase in visits to the website, which increased 11.5% on 2017, the charity:
- Answered almost 11,000 helpline enquiries;
- Distributed more than £50,000 in grants via its Emergency Fund;
- Issued more than 2,000 Brain Injury Identity Cards;
- Helped almost 3,000 people via its HATS nurses scheme.
None of this would have been possible without the support of our fabulous fundraisers and volunteers,” said Luke.
“To each and every person who helped us improve life after brain injury in 2018, we say a huge thank you!”Back
