This year, Christie’s incredible London staff members have organised a series of events and challenges in aid of Headway and have raised over £17,000 and counting!
Ellis Martin, Christie’s Sales & Training, shared the inspiration behind this year’s choice to support Headway:
“For 2023, we have chosen to support Headway – the brain injury association, nominated by a colleague deeply connected to the cause. We are passionate about arranging events that contribute to such a worthy cause.”
We were thrilled to attend the much-anticipated opening night of the Christie’s London Staff Auction in aid of Headway and share with Christie’s how much of an impact their fundraising efforts will make to brain injury survivors across the UK.
What a night! Attended by 200 artists, staff, and guests, the event celebrated how art can play its role in making an impact on positive change.
We had the pleasure of meeting some of the artists involved. Among the artists, Lydia Smith, multi-disciplined artist, expressed her pride in supporting Headway, highlighting a personal connection to the cause. Benjamin Youd, a photographer, spoke of the meditative and calming effect of artistic expression. Chelsea Maria West, a Continuing Education Coordinator at Christie’s Education, reflected on the therapeutic value of crafting and her joy in contributing to Headway’s mission adding,
“I’m so glad this event is for Headway.”
Many of the artists have generously pledged to donate the hammer price to charity, with Christie’s also contributing the full buyer’s premium.
Amber-Rose Perry, Corporate Manager at Headway said:
“We were thrilled to be chosen as Christie’s Charity of the Year, corporate partnerships like these are crucial in enabling Headway to continue its vital work.”
The auction will be online until 7 November, and we encourage everyone to get involved, bid on your favourite pieces, and raise money for those affected by brain injury.
