From May 4, 2023, people in England must show a photo ID to vote at polling stations for some elections. This will include the local elections taking place in some parts of the country, on May 4.
With local elections set to take place soon, Headway wants to remind you of this important change to help ensure your voices are heard.
Sarah Russell, Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager at Headway UK, said: “We are urging you to check that you have the proper ID to safeguard your democratic right to vote.
"Accepted forms of ID include a UK driving licence, certain passports or a blue badge. A full list of accepted forms of ID can be found on the Electoral Commission website.”
