The Durham-based firm got its fundraising off to a flying start with an office launch party in January. They then took part in Headway’s Pancake Party Day, where staff all donated to compete in the ‘biggest pancake tosser’ competition.
During the summer, staff members competed in a River Rat Race which saw them swim, crawl, climb, jump, splash and run their way around an urban obstacle course.
But the highlight of the year was the glamorous Moulin Rouge themed WonderLAN ball which saw guests treated to performances from can-can dancers, fire eaters and acrobats.
Emma Gaudern, Managing Director at EMG Solicitors, said: “We really enjoyed being Baton Holders for Headway in 2017.
“Although it was hard work, we found that undertaking events in such a great cause brought the team together and we had some great team building opportunities!
“From a quiz night, to a river rat race and a ball, we tried a variety of fundraising methods and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the process.
“We feel pleased and proud that our efforts will go towards supporting those with brain injuries, who are so much in need.
“We are committed to holding our WonderLAN Ball on an ongoing basis, so it is good to think that our fundraising hasn’t ceased just because the year is over.”
Jo Plant, Director of Fundraising at Headway, said: “Headway would like to say a big thank you to everyone at EMG Solicitors.
“We loved hearing about all the fun ways in which its staff raised vital funds for us.
“The money raised will ensure brain injury survivors and their families can access crucial support from the charity.”
