Emmerdale highlights Headway support after brain injury episode

Tue 06 Jan 2015

Headway's helpline details provided at the end of top ITV soap Emmerdale after Cain Dingle collapses due to an aneurysm

On Wednesday's (7 January) episode, long serving character Cain Dingle is diagnosed with a brain aneurysm following severe headaches and dizziness. Despite being told that his life is at risk unless urgent surgery is carried out, Cain struggles to cope with the news and leaves the hospital, collapsing on his way home.

At Headway we know the distress and uncertainty an aneurysm diagnosis can cause. We were pleased to be approached by Emmerdale last year for support in developing the story, and the soap has agreed to provide our helpline and website details to viewers who may be affected.

Our helpline is open from 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, and can be contacted on:

Freephone: 0808 800 2244
Email: helpline@headway.org.uk
